Too much PSI???

Trying to rid fuel pressure issues inexpensively by adding a stock LP near the fuel tank. I got all my hoses and fittings plus a bracket and begin the install. After installed and system primed I started the truck and almost pegged my 30 PSI FP gauge (28 PSI)!! Let the truck run for a little while and noticed about $30 dollars of diesel fuel under the engine. There was diesel spraying out around the top of the fuel filter. I think my gasket was streched to begin with but would that much pressure hurt a new gasket?? Of course I could only get an idle reading but is 28 PSI too high? Thanks

did you change your fuel filter? if you did, did you replace your fuel canister lid gasket? make sure you didnt cross thread the cap and get it tight, but not too tight.
