temp. guage overheating

temp. guage overheating

Guys i need some help here.i just flushed my cooling system and ran my garden hose through the rad till it came clean.filled rad and overflow tank went for a drive now my temp guage is reading 275 [red line].i think i have air in the system but cannot remember how to get rid of it.i now read that the truck has jiggle pins to prevent airlock and i SHOULDN'T HAVE USED THE GARDEN HOSE.

Just keep on filling it up every morning before starting.
Fill with the engine off.

You also want to keep the overflow tank filled to the full mark with mixed coolant. It will suck coolant back into the radiator as it cools and purges air. You should check your mixture if you weren't careful at keeping it near 50/50 mix.
