Unhappy Stumble/Hesitation 03 HO

Truck has 104,000 miles on it, change fuel filter every 8000 miles with oil change. Also have AFE Filter, I clean it every oil change. Has been running great, i fired it up, let it warm for about 5 minutes, Backed out driveway, Started to go forward and it stumbled, I thought it was me its a 6 spd....So I drove 30 miles, drove great on interstate, got to location, went to pull in to driveway, and it stumbled again, i pulled on in and set Emergency brake, let it idle.....it did great for about 3 minutes and then the rpm dropped to 300 then jumped to 1100 and back to 650 and stayed there for a while then did the same thing again.
Now i had 2/3 tank of fuel, have had no other problems.
Any Ideas???????

Get a good fuel system cleaner with a water disbursant. I suspect you have picked up a load of fuel with water contamination.

It is particularly important to use a good cleaner and disbursant on the third generation engines, because they use electrically triggered solenoids in the injectors and a little water will cause long term problems with the adjustment if not addressed immediately.

Have you checked for engine codes? If you cycle the key on then off for three times, any codes should come up on the odometer display. John

Already 104K on your '03? Thats some serious windshield time! I'd toss in some PowerService or whatever your favorite flavor is for a couple tanks and see if that cleans things up for you.

Heres an update....Had done nothing for 2 weeks and have had no problems at all....I did run 1 tank of powerservice, just for kicks and maintanance for the pump and injectors, Have not had any other problems.
I now have 112560 on it now and it is still as strong as ever and no other problems to even think about.
Thanks for all the help.
Allen
