Stuck in Las Vegas
Stuck in Las Vegas
My AC quit and there is a funny sound coming from the front of the motor. Sounds like a gurgling.. not mechanical and it smells hot! I checked the fuses and the upper left one (10a) is blown. Of course my manual is at home in Oregon and I am afraid to drive it. The temps here are in the 100s and I am not sure what to do next. No tools and no manual sucks. Does anyone know what that fuse goes to? Thanks for any help. I can live driving back home without AC but I don't want to hurt the truck.

I did check the belt and it looks ok. Everything seems to be spinning ok...no grinding noises. The AC was working in Fallon NV and I let my son drive and he said it just quit. I was thinking that I had vent door problems because it would work and then gradually get warm. Now it doesn't work at all but I think that fuse is the problem there. I just don't have a manual to check.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
The gauges all seem normal considering the heat. They used to stick an extra fuse in the box back in the good ole days but I bet they don't now. I will have to try to find an auto supply around here close. It is still at 101 outside right now at 9:00pm. I will give it a shot early tomorrow and see if I can locate some fuses.
Thanks again.
