strange tranny behavior from dead stop!
i come to a dead stop and i let off the brake and give her some light gas to get going...and just in that split second where it starts to move it kinda "downshitfs" or "slips" in order to engage to the gear and get going.....the truck doesnt rev and not move or anythign like that...its more like when i get my foot off the brake its still in 2nd and just as i start rolling it will kinda downshift and et going normally...its very subtle....otherwise the tranny shifts and drives awesome...lockup is awesome...fluid gets changed routinely.....i was wondering if this is a typical band adjusment canditate? i have never adjusted the bands or touched them since ive had the truck
Governor pressure sensor (or is it selonoid?) Not an expensive part. I learned the hard way, the dealer decided I needed a whole new throttle body, $1,200 later my truck was back on the road for about $975.00 more than it should have cost.
47RH....i have no valve body mods...i remember infidel saying that u only need to really think about adjustign bands when ur slipping in 1st or reverse...this doesnt happen all the time...i just wanna make adjustments where needed before i get bigger issues

had the same problem with mine about 6 years ago. went to the dealer for repair and ended up doing about $2500 plus in repairs. still think i got hosed but what can you do. ended up with new torque converter and other repairs to the tranny. I was told after that to not idle truck in park for any length of time. A friend in the oil field said they had mega problems with the fleet trucks that idled alot in the far north in the winter. same kind of shifting as you describe and i had. company did some research and discovered that no fluid circulates when idling in park. since then when idling put their trannys in nuetral and no problems. I done this for the last 6years and mine is just like new and no problems. seems idling took out sone seals or something because of lack of lubrication.
don't know if this is your problem but it sounds like what i had.
hope yous is easier tofix and cheaper
