Steering help for 1991 Ram
Greetings,
I'm writing to see if I can get some help for my step-dad and his truck. He has a 1991 Ram D250 with the Cummins turbo, and the truck is 4X4.
The joint where the steering column meets the steering box is loose, and he needs to replace that part. The company that builds the part is out of business and they are no longer available. He has all of the other parts he needs to rebuild the steering, except for this joint. I will try to get a photo of it to post with the message. Also, I'll get any more detailed information that someone might need to help us out.
Does anyone know where I can find this part? Please help! I don't want the darn thing to break and cause a wreck.
Please e-mail me with any info.

Thanks,
Doc

Last I knew Dodge was still in business. Just this summer I rebuilt mine using parts from the local Dodge dealer, have you tried there?
The other option is a Borgeson intermediate shaft.

the OE rag joint is JUNK but is available (22 bucks last time I checked) There is an after market one that is actually a mini u-joint set-up that is very strong and reliable, but I can't recall who makes it. I seem to remember seeing it advertised in petersons 4wd& and off road, Maybe check there for a web site or something. What I did is used a u-joint off of a Zimmatic circle pivot gearbox--did a little machine work, and has worked perfectly for years---It was also FREE!
