Starter sticking
Starter sticking
Well I think its the starter still sticking. I replaced the the starter contacts and plunger but the noise is still there. Could my starter still be bad? I have about 180k on the truck. Once the noise started I stopped driving the truck. Before this happened I could hear the start sticking for about 2 seconds then retracting. But it never was that bad I heard that I could possibly have destroyed my flex plate, but the truck has been babied for the past 3 months because of my blown head gasket, and I dont think its that.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks!

take you're start off, get a flash light, and have someone turnthe engine by the altinater nut. have him do it slowly so you can see if the teeth are worn down. if not, than you might need to replace, or clean the brushes on the starter. other than that, new starter. just my .02.
Well I pulled the starter, everything seems to be ok. Ran the truck with some ear plugs on (the noise is real loud) and I can hear the starter disengaging I think. I dont think its the starter anymore
