spraying the town in ATF4

2002 Dodge 2500 4x4
Alright, I am trying to find out a part number or where i can buy a new line to replace the hose to transmission cooler?Name: Picture116.jpg

I mean I can see the number on the hose but that either isn't the right one or auto-zone/advanced auto cant find it.

Tried locating it on the computer in the stores, but they cant find it.
I need some help with these, is it hard to replace? I read shovel said once it was about 100$ a line, but shoot I'm going to waste more then that in ATF and environmental karma from coating all the local roads with red fluid lol.
Is it hard to replace, or require any special tools?
Thankx for any help you can give.

Bet you replace that hose coupler assy and you'll still have a leak. Better take a GOOD look at that line.

I'm just saying that undo the quick connector and take a GOOD look at the line. More times that not you'll find the line cracked where they "swedged" it to form the "lock" tab for the quick connect.

How to fix it? If it were mine it gets a new line....I'm kind of fussy that way. Need your truck NOW??!! Bite the bullet and cut off the quick connect from the rubber hose, slide the rubber hose over the line past the lock tab, and hose clamp it. It will get you where you need to go, but then you'll have to buy two parts if you want to return it to "like new" condition.

I did that to my old 99 when the line decided to go, and drip fairly quickly I cut the line, pushed onto the steel line and used 2 hose clamps on it...has held up ever since. There should be enough hose for you to do this, IIRC.

You'll find part numbers here> http://dodgeram.org/tech/transmissio..._couplings.htm

and how to disconnect hoses here> http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1996/21-15-96.htm

Napa recently started selling replacement lines for the 12 valves, pretty sure yours are the same.
