Re:spliting turbo - truck down !

If you are pulling the turbo out as a unit, it is real simple.
1: Remove the air hoses (2) from the turbo.
2: Remove the lubrication lines (2), one on the top and one on the bottom.
3: Remove the exhaust pipe from the turbo.
4: Remove the turbo from the exhaust manifold.
5: Install in reverse order.
IMPORTANT: Fill the top oil hole in the turbo with clean motor oil.
Keep checking this oil level, and keep it full until the top oil line is hooked up.
When it is all installed, start the truck and let it idle for 5 minutes before putting it under a load to allow the lubrication of the turbo.

Re:spliting turbo - truck down !

I had the turbo off but the exaust housing didn't want to come off the bearing housing , thanks to Mr. torch ;D with some moderate heat and a little tapping with a hammer, Wala
off she came. Also pumped oil through bearings to keep them cool. Thanks for the help. ;D

ramguy
