something wont turn off
something wont turn off
First off – sorry for the stupid question.... I turned my truck off today and heard “something” still running. Found this part was going crazy – unplugged it and it stopped.
Could someone please tell me what this is – and any ideas why it would continue to run after the engine has been shut off?
Thank you guys for your help.

It is the ABS pump, not sure what causes it but my 04 did the same thing. I took out the ABS fuse and have been running it for about 8months with out. the only thing is you won't have ABS. doesn't bother me any but not sure if i can get an inspection. a new one from Dodge is like 300 something. Not sure how hard it is to change out haven't done mine yet.

The antilock CAB module. The HCU pump motor is now referred to as an "accumulator" in the parts information. You must order the CAB module or what is called the controller. It must be properly programed if you buy a new replacement. The replacement CAB will result in a blinking ABS indicator until it is programed. You could try one from a wrecking yard since they are expensive, or try ebay. Dealership price around $334 not too difficult to replace.
