smoke coiming from the fuel tank
i just change over to .0093 ss high pressure fuel lines and 245hp injectors. the truck is ruff running witch that part i expected. but it is smoking white out of pipe at idle and it also smoking out of the fuel cell at the cap, it is also white. have any of you guys had the same problem?
With the mods you list the truck should be smooth running unless there is a failure in one of the components. That is the beauty of a high performance diesel, they run smooth as silk when modified.
White smoke in the fuel cell is a concern that would lead me to check the fuel to be sure it is not contaminated with gasoline or naphtha. If you just have a very small amount of white vapor coming out of the fuel cell, and it only occurs when the engine is hot, it is the MTBE gassing out of the new formulation of ultra low emission diesel. Oh yes, since MTBE was outlawed from gasoline it is now found in most diesel fuel.
A small amount of white exhaust smoke at idle would be normal for a cold truck with the big injectors, but if it continues to smoke when up to operating temperature check the new injectors as you have one that is drooling or popping early.

Hate to have this as my first post to this board, however it sounds like there was some contamination in one of the new injector lines that was flushed into one of the injectors, this injector is now stuck open and not only is it dripping fuel into the cylinder, it is allowing compression and combustion products back into the fuel return line, hence the smoke from the fuel tank.
