smoke coiming from the fuel tank fill cap.
i just change over to .0093 ss high pressure fuel lines and 245hp injectors. the truck is ruff running witch that part i expected. but it is smoking white out of pipe at idle and it also smoking out of the fuel cell at the cap, it is also white. have any of you guys had the same problem?
Just a guess but it sounds like one of the check valves is bad on one of the nozzles. Compression is backing up into the fuel system and unburned fuel is going out the exhaust. Try cracking the lines at the pump to see if you can find the bad one. Regards, Mike.
I had the smoking fuel tank too after an injector install. if the holddowns are not seated right, compression pressure leaks into the fuel return system and you get vapor coming out the tank.
In my case, I also had a pressurized tank. When I took the filler cap off, it almost took my head off. You could hear the vent hissing when the engine was running!
I also broke one of those little 8mm screws. They aren't that strong, so just be careful with them. I have a spare in my toolbox now. Fortunately, mine broke right at the flange (head came off) and I was able to back it out with just thumb pressure on top-- let's hear it for good thread machining!
