I think i found the problem. I started looking at the seal where the hood meets the windsheild. I noticed a small piece of foam on the end near the drivers side was missing. I drove the truck around for a minute and then took a whiff right there (hood down) and sure enough, i could plainly smell it (the rotella stink.) So it makes sense that when im just idling with the heater on, the oil stink is coming up from under the hood and being sucked right into the intake air for the cab. Now i just gotta figure out a way to seal that up and ill be good to go.

lmctruck has the new seals. I am having the same problem and am going to have to order them myself. still cheaper than a new truck payment.

You can get some of the foam insulation, at the hardware store, used for insulating pluming pipes. There's different diameters, buy the largest they sell. Usually about 3" OD. Just cut off about 6-8 inches and about 2 inches across and use weatherstrip adhesive to glue it down.

Thats what i like to hear. A nice, easy, and best of all cheap!! solution to the little problems that plague these #%@^&! trucks. I thought about selling it and getting a newer model, but i dont want someone else driving MY truck around. So I'll just keep fixing it till i cant take it anymore.
