smells like diesel

I noticed today when I got out of my truck that it smelled really strong like diesel on the driver side of the truck. I looked to see if I could find out if it was leaking and saw no sign of diesel. Has anybody had this problem or am I just paranoid that somethings wrong?

Might check your fuel filter.

I had a filter a while back that had soft rubber seals/gasket on it. The one that seals the canister was pushed out. Didn't leak on the ground right away. Took me a day or 2, to find where it was coming from.

Took the filter back to where I bought it. They swapped me a new one. No problems afterwards.

i too had the same problem

It was also the fuel filter, however, my gasket was torn, and was leaky.. and made startin a little bit trickier..

Most times when I run into a leak that isn't visible it's on top of the bell housing, you have to feel for it.
My bet is if you aren't having starting problems now you will when your tank gets low.

Along with Infidel, my 95 was having the same thing and a crawl underside revealed seeping fuel lines at the bell housing where the rubber/metal joint is. It a fairly common problem.
