O.k., I've seen this asked a thousand times, but I have to ask again. The problem is that driveing over 70 mph I lose power,it doesn't shut off just no more power,I can push in the clutch and let the rpm's come down for a second and then everything is fine. Also I have the edge comp, it makes more power when turned on,but all five levels are the same,I can ajust the sub levels but the mains are the same.I had the shut down problen before the edge box so what ever is doing that probably is keeping the comp box from working right. I just put a new LP and filter on last week and nothing changed, except I have 15 psi now instead of 6.I read some other posts and think it could be the MAP sensor??Please help.
I was going to sugest LP & fuel filter then saw you did it , with the with the pressure's you listed I would hate to think you changed them out just before the VP pump went but then more info would be handy, you should put your truck info in your sig. so that it easyer to help. what RPM or gear ratio?
Do the drill to let the throttle relearn zero. Then give it a try. If you still have the problem, look at the VP44 as failing. If you let your truck run under load at 6 psi, the injection pump is most likely shot, it does not take much running at low pressure to eat the thing.
Shop around and get a good rebuilt, there are no new ones made anymore. If you check with the diesel shops that advertise here you will get a better deal than with Dodge or Cummins.

6 psi is not necessarily low pressure. Dealerships no longer just look at pressure they look at flow to determine a faulty lift pump. The old way of thinking was below 8psi was bad for the VP, actually the VP needs little pressure to operate, the rest is for cooling. I personally believe going to 6 at WOT is not critical. Some cases, the VP fails with great fuel pressure. I wouldn't panic just yet. Reset the APPS and see what happens. Someone here I am sure has more info.
My map sensor is bum, it does not let my truck build much boost or give it the fuel in big volumes, it runs great, just not up to it's full potential, so those are the symptoms of map for ya.

adam F,
Did you ever solve your problem. My is doing the same thing and the putting in the clutch thing and letting it idle down works but is getting very old. Just checked the codes this weekend and it gives an injector pump failure code. Don't have the exact one as I write. Also picked up an overflow checkvalve today. Going to try that next.

I have fought this problem for over a year now. I have cleaned and changed several sensors but right now I'm having a brain fart on which ones. Are there any guides out there to each of them so I can see where they are located maybe then I'l be smart enough to remember.
adamf,
Code is 0216-injection timing control circuit malfunction, fuel injection pump timing failure.
Checkvalve replacement didn't improve anything but give me a false sense of security for about 5 miles then back to ABnormal
