runs like crap when it is cold
runs like crap when it is cold
I just bought 2004 dodge cummins w/6sp. The engine light come on the dealer put a new TPS. The next day the the engine light came on again and had the dead pedal I have read so much about. After the truck was warm the engine light turned off and ran great.
Next day started it all over again engine light, codes P 2121, so i went to the dealer found a dead battery. replaced battery, then ran great again. the next day It started all over again, so I took it to another guy and they can not find and thing wrong. So they cleaned some connectors and the light went off and they said that should fix it. next day yep you guessed it started all over again. and this whole time the code P2121 and 2122 pop up.
So my question is would a alternator cause me greif like this? or maybe a IAT sensor? and what is this noise filter do that I have read about? what a pain in the butt this truck has been and I have had it a week...

P2121 APPS Conformance Error
P2122 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch D Circuit Low Input
If the dealer replaced the TPS with a new part, it may be faulty.. or perhaps the other battery is weak.

Depending on the condition of the "bad" battery, I usually replace them in pairs. If one is dead, the other one usually takes such a beating that it's not in very good condition either.
2004 cold start. I would verify that the ecm is at the latest level. They probably checked, but if not, update it.
