the other day i was out on the highway and had her pinned. the motor started to miss so i backed off it went away so i pinned her again and again it started to miss. today i started it up cold and she puked out alot of white smoke and it was missing so bad that it took about five seconds to get the turbo to spool. it would take off good once the turbo was fully spooled. after it warmed up it ran great and had no problems. i let her cool off and tried it again and sure enough it ran like it had only 4 cylinders and once it warmed up it started to run okay. my mechanic said it could be a sticky injector since i just for the first time ran some meaner cleaner through it. he gave me some additive to "lube" everything up so far no improvement. he also ran it for codes and everything was good so WHAT COULD IT BE....HELP

Have you checked your oil level to see if there is fuel in the oil? Could be an injector problem like you said.

My last truck was an 02 CTD and I never put any kind of additive in it until about 60K miles. Filled the fuel tank, added 1/2 can of PowerServices white. The lift pump went out and burned up the injector pump. I could limp the truck into the dealer but it had very intermittent power. One time I would floor and it would set me back in my seat, next time it would blow out a BUNCH of white smoke and hardly any power.

Nearest I could figure was the new additive broke loose all sorts of gunk that had been building up since the truck was new. Now my policy is only add additives to vehicles that have had additives added since they were new, otherwise you are looking for trouble.

Fortunately, that truck had 70K warranty and it was covered.
