Running 70 MPH, then Dead?

Trying to get to work today running down the Interstate at 70 MPH and the truck just completely shuts down? I'm talking about DOA. (2000 / Dodge 2500, CTD, Automatic)

I installed a three gauge set (pyro, trans temp, boost) ~ 3 month ago as well an a fuel pressure "Idiot Light" and was watching all 4 when it died with no signs of trouble? No spikes in temps, smoke, etc.

Any deep thoughts, maybe sensor related?

I have 175,000 miles and replace my third LP about two weeks ago with no symptoms since. I'm lost and really don't know where to turn first.

Thanks in advance,

- Jonathan

p.s. both batteries brand new, it will crank strong with no idications of starting.

Check the codes , cycle the key on-off-on-off-on , and look in the odo window , if p0216 comes up , you need a new IP , sure sounds like it could be the problem, especially with a recent LP.

How much fuel in the tank?
(although, you would think the FP light would go off)

Both the primary and auxiliary tank where between 1/4 and a 1/2 a tank when truck died.

During my trouble shooting on side of Intersate, I tried switching b/w the two and same result when trying to crank. No luck, would just keep turning over.

Well, heres hoping that it is not the IP!

I was pretty pro-active on changing out the LP's to try and avoid killing the IP. Changed prior lift pumps out when WOT pressure started to drop below 7 PSI.

Thanks again for everyone input!

You wont always get a code for a dead VP (ask me how I know X2)
crack the line prior to the VP and cycle the key for the LP if you have fuel there then crack a couple of injector lines and crank it over no fuel there meens time for a new IP

I was too.......filter changes, monitored fuel pressure, replaced two lift pumps before pressure dropped below 8 psi.
Mine STILL croaked at 87,000 miles.
