So I just got my Maghytec cover fitted on the rear dana 80 and have just driven home (60 kms/40 miles) and when I was pulling in to park I noticed a strange grabby vibration(like when tires rub on the control arms) like a ratcheting driveline. So I checked the dipstick of my brand new diff cover and the magnet already had what looked like a whole load of metal flakes stuck to it :--)
The diff was warm to touch but only vaquely so.
I rang the mechanic and found out he didn't put any additive in the fluid!! :{
but would that cause so much metal to 'come loose'???
I will try and get some additive tomorrow but....
any suggestions???
