I was sitting in a drive through window idleing for about 5 mins just after filling up, I went to pull away (just barely touching the throttle) & it was like it "loaded up" or something.
It ran rough till I gave it a little more throttle, then it let out a big rattle & ran fine.

What was that???
Is it a warning sign of something?
Is it something that needs to be checked??

03 HO auto quad cab, 2500 miles, no warning lights or buzzers came on when it did it, it was fully warmed up, A/C was off.

I'm brand new to diesels so I have no idea what it's doing or trying to tell me. ???

 

If you have a good relation with the dealer, get them to throw it on the computer. Maybe there was a softcode stored from that little episode... Its not typical for that sort of thing..

The running rough and rattle may be timing related, but again, see if the computer stored anything. I wouldn't worry too much..

It's done this several times now, I'll be sitting at a drive through for a few mins & it'll start idling rough & let out a big rattle & run normaly!!

I'll be sure to tell my dealer about it.

 

Sounds like a small gulp of air, but i don't know how that could happen without hard starting sometimes.

Nope it always starts easy, It will just idle rough for a couple of seconds & then let out a big rattle.
The rest of the time it seems to be fine.
