roll over but wont crank

got the truck cranking went the next morning to go to work but the same thing happened roll over but will not bust off . i got a buddy with a scan tool pulled code 1689(no communication between ecm and injection pump)today i separated the wire harnesses between the ip and the ecm sprayed with contact cleaneradn reassembled. the truck started 4 times on the 5th try the **** thing just rolled over again. i dont know if the ecm is taking a **** or if a have another fault? how in world would u check the ecm?any help would b greatly appreiciated.

Dealer has a test tool. Unplug VP44, plug in test tool, see if truck starts....That would be an easy way to tell which direction to go.

u say ur in texas give me a shout or private message me im having hell outa a 2000 3500 4x4 5 speed with a no start condition. the **** thing is getting fuel but what else could it be
