Release Bearing
I am replacing a Sachs clutch on Will’s 1st. Gen it has a 5-speed Getrag with transfer case attached.
Is the release bearing supposed to ride against the diaphragm all of the time even when the clutch pedal is released or is it supposed to retract like a normal manual transmission does off the fingers of the diaphragm?
I will be replacing this tonight, thanks in advance.

Thanks Dave,
Ran into a little snag, the clutch on the truck was a LUK so all of the bolts are 1 1/2" too short; going to pick up some Grade-8 bolts in the morning.
Was a LUK used as a stock unit or is it an after market?
How are these compared to a Sachs?

Thanks,
The LUK pressure plate is about 20 pounds lighter that the Sachs and the Sachs disk has 8 springs while the LUK only has 5.
It looks like something you would use behind a gas engine
