While pulling a friend out tonight my rearend started making a clanking noise. Then after we got him out it felt like a true posi.... turning in a tight circle felt like it want to scoot. I believe it is a Dana 70. Any ideas on what to do? How hard is it to rebuild? Could it be the brake shoes or something else? Please help....

 

id pul the center caps off and see if you cand see any shavings or like a metal dust,

 

Pop the diff cover off and inspect everything. Could be a broken tooth off the ring gear that got lodged in your spider gears, but you won't know for sure unless you pop the cover.

 

I have a huge problem here.... The carrier came completely apart, it took everything with it. Where is a good place to buy parts? Dodge wants 2800.00. That's just parts....... Give me some places to buy good quality with out th ehigh price! Please.....
