Re:WHICH REAR END?????

The 3.73 is a good mid-range, and would benefit you if you towed in the mountains. I wouldn't get anything lower unless I towed 30K for a living. I like the 3.54s in my 99, and would rather have something even taller, like a 3.25, due to the torque of the engine. If you don't tow much go for the tallest gear you can get. It will benefit you in fuel mileage and top end.

Chris

love my 99 3500 with the 3.54 gear. great top end and handles moderate loads just fine.

cfm3110, there is a fairly long thread with several opinions in "Towing and Hauling/RV" called "towing with a 4.10". Are we getting similar vehicles? Check my signature.

Re:WHICH REAR END?????

looks like you are getting an identical truck to mine. I picked it up Friday and I LOVE IT!!!! it has more power than i thought it would stock and 5th gear is amazing from 45-60. i am looking at the molded steps from mopar like the ones one my truck, but am having trouble finding out if they include the bed "accent" kit as well. Good luck with your truck i know i love mine(at least the first 750 miles i have driven it ;D)

Re:WHICH REAR END?????

just thought i might mention that if ur planning on stepping up a size or 2 in tires, id go with 4.10's so u wont notice the power loss and possibly through off the speedo....
