Quick Connector needed. NON standard. HELP.

Hi, I have been having problems locating a connector for my '95 Dodge ram 1500 5.9L (Standard Cab Long Bed). Unfortunately the Dodge people in Amarillo Texas put on a non standard part (after taking a week to try replace line). It has been steadily leaking for about 9-10 months and is getting worse. I have a new transmission cooler line but the connector shown in the picture is very hard to locate. The connector circled in white is what I am looking for. It is a compression fitting and the tube has bent which is where the leak is coming from. If anyone has a straight flared connector stem that would be a great help. The stem size is 1/8". Not sure the nut thread though.

Here is the url of the images:

Thanking everyone in advance of any help that they may give.

That's not a compresion fitting. It's a flare fitting. It also looks like copper tubing installed with it. I don't think your suppose to have copper and flare fittings on transmision lines. You can get what your looking for at a home repair center. (Lowes, Home Depot). You don't replace the nut. You replace the tubing and use a flaring tool to create a new flared end on the new tube. Your going to need flaring tools to fix this.

You be better off ordering new lines, or even better, finding a transmision shop to make some new lines.

Thanks

Hi charliez,

I thought that I might have to go that route. I went to any radiator shop (since this part was on the radiator side of things) and they found a connector very similar to the one in the picture. This one came off another radiator and this time the nut is brass. The stem is still copper/brass. Only problem is that the stem is bent at right angles. So I am considering cutting off the flared end to where the stem is straight and has the quick connect flange (sorry about the incorrect nomenclature, this is a new area for me). What would be a good company to get a flaring tool from?

Thanks.

By the way, the vehicle is gas powered not diesel.
