PSD CPS diagnosis and change
I'm thinking the problem with my '99 F350 PSD is probbaly the Cam Position Sensor.
Can anyone tell me the symptoms of this sensor going bad and where it's located on a PSD?

Right above the crank pulley...it's a plug looking thing with a harness that plugs into it.
Causes hard starting or no starting, sometimes the truck will just quit. Buddy of mine just had to replace his.
CPS is about the only thing that ever goes out on the 7.3.
Try this link for a replacement, best price I've seen http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/ford

Just a plain ole guy
My neighbor has this same truck and had the same issue. He mainly does highway driving, and his would shut down just like someone turned the truck off while driving and chunked the keys out the window. Had to roll to a stop. Sometimnes it would start right back, sometimes not. Had 80 miles left on his warranty and the local Ford guys towed it in and fixed it under warranty. I think it was an $80 part. You can change it yourself.

No chips or mods, bone stock, problem has been getting progressively worse.
Sometimes it will restart, sometimes not. If left to sit for several hours it usually restarts.
A real pain in the butt. I got a new CPS today so hopefully that will fix the problem.
Truck has 200,000 miles. Most of which are fairly heavy towing. (ie 15-20,000 lbs)
Usually does it at low speeds.

Yep, I'm pretty sure that is the problem. when it quit again yesterday I cranked it quite a bit and the tach never moved. I'm going to go change the CPS. Hopefully that fixes it. Thanks for all your help.
