Angry Problem starting now

i have a 2000 dodge ram 2500 with the cummins with the 5.9. since i bought the truk the tac has been going crazy sometimes it will stay on Zero other times it will bounce around. when this happens i seem to loose power. but when the tac starts to work right again the power comes right back. and now with it gettig colder it seems to be doing this more and more. this morning i went to try to start the truck and it didnt want to start because of the cold, when it did satrt it quit a few minutes later and it still wont start.. Does anyone know what could be going on here. it would be a great help. thanks
Joe

I know some trucks have had the AC wire scuffing problem ck your AC wires and make sure they are not chaffed through the casing

that one really sounds like a cam sensor problem.

The chafing wires were a problem on the 3rd gen trucks, under the AC compressor.

cps (crankshaft position sensor) is most likely your problem.
it's location is above the starter in rear of engine near flywheel.
