Just use lots and lots of Either!!!

No just kidding, friend of mines friend did that on his powerjoke and blew the intake off.
You could always tow it to the local dealership and trade it for a cummins.

engine back pressure valve, puts load on the engine to warm up faster. its what makes the kissing noise when its cold. but check the glow pugs or relays or go to dieselstop.com, all ford website. you will deff get answer there.

Check your glow plug relay, they are a common problem on those trucks, I've had 2 of them, and replaced relays twice on one and three times on the other. If you have a multimeter you can check the wire (I believe its brown) that comes into the left side from the battery and you should have 12 volts there, then have a buddy turn the key on (dont crank) and check the other side (black or red wire I think), it should read 12 volts for 30-45 seconds, mine were both in the 35 sec range, after that time there shouldnt be anything there until you cycle it again. One common misconception is that the wait to start light is connected to the glow plugs, this isnt the case, the light goes off after a few seonds but the plugs are still on, so cycling your plugs 3 times in 30 seconds isnt any different than just waiting. If thats not your problem it could be your plugs, my factory plugs lasted 110,000 and I did em the second time around at 165,000. They arent to bad to replace you can probably do all eight in 6 hrs or so your first time. The ebpv is the exhaust back pressure valve, I dont believe thats your problem though, the symptoms dont add up and I never had any troubles with it in either one of mine. The white smoke is your plugs not working or your relay is out, mine used to crank for ever (wore out 2 starters) and when it fired (if it did) it just poured out so much smoke (even at 40 degrees) that if the wind was right you couldnt see the truck anymore and the parking lot would be a cloud of smoke, made for some interesting conversations with other people explaining why my truck did that. I replaced the plugs and did the relay at the same time and the smoke went away. Powerstrokes are just notoriously cold natured, thats one reason why I went to cummins. Thats a place to start anyway, if you have anymore questions just shoot me a pm and I'll try to help you if I can. You can also try powerstroke.org theres lots of powerjoke info on there. Sorry its so long but I hope I helped you some. Good Luck
