Problem with my NV4500
Hey guys...Heres the story...see what you think. What happened was I had my girlfriend move my truck and this is what she told me...so i dont know if this is exaclty what happened....she put it in reverse and backed up just fine, then she went to go forward and instead of using first she just went straight up to 5th gear...well she moved it like 10 feet down a hill and then stoped...said it was stuck in gear...from what it looked like...it kinda looked like the shifter was lifted up....and it feels kinda sloppy. but anyways...its stuck in 5th gear now...and its almost planting season here in Iowa and i need that truck ASAP. Any ideas would be great... i was going to take out the shifter but ran out of time to look at it. I need to know how to take off the ***** for the 4x4 and the cap thing with teh spring under it that holds the shifter. Any help would be awsome.

Most people plant with their tractor
The ****, if it is like mine, you have to use a small screwdriver or pen knife to pry out a plastic disk with the shift pattern on it and under that is a nut to remove. I wonder if the 5th gear nut problem happened?

Well I dont have a tractor with A/C and radio so i decided to use my truck this year. Haha J/K. I dont know if it would be the 5th gear nut or not....I do know that it did do the little wineing thing in 5th gear for the past 15,000 miles...so i guess if thats what it is...then i guess i went with the time bomb theroy. but i heard if that falls off you can still use 1-4.....dont know for sure though...no experience with that.
