Priming the 24 v after IP install
Priming the 24 v after IP install
I changed my IP the other day but didnt have much time to prime it well i started today and i get bubbly fuel where i cracked open the injector lines up by the head......... I have been dinking around bumping my starter so much Im going nuts
i really dont think im sucking air in anwhere.........but i guess i probably am any other ways i can prime this thing ?????

You're doing it right.
While it's suggested to crack open 1, 3, and 5 I have never needed to open up #5. If you are getting a good amount of fuel up there at the injectors start it up and tighten the retainers down. It will idle funny for a moment, but just give the pedal a slight blip and it will smooth out.
My suggestion is to use a flare nut wrench on the injector line retainers as they can be easily rounded off with a normal open end wrench.

Im getting fuel there but no start my buddys gonna check for codes tonight and clear them and see if that does anything..... i changed the LP and The IP before i did this i couldnt get any fuel up there i change them find that the old IP has some loose parts on the inside you can hear and clearly feel when turning the shaft that the pumps shot its junk..........what else could be wrong......shouldnt it start or try to after bumping the starter easily 50 times between the last two times i got a chance to mess with it

I have replaced mutliple VP44's and i only crack the fuel line from the LP to the IP and bleed the air out of that, then crack any 3 injector lines (usually the easiest to get to) then crank it till good fuel is flowing out of the injector lines. Tighten them down and hold the throttle open till it starts and then let it idle for a few seconds to bleed ou the rest of the lines. Other than that i would agree with Jester.
make sure you have plenty of fuel in your tank. when I did mine it wouldn't start, fuel guage was showing 1\8 tank . put about ten gallons in it and it fired right up. it was trying to prime but couldn't quite get there.
they say not to touch the accelerator when priming the system. (more importantly, the directions say not to)
dunno what it does, but your not stupposed to do it
now i have changed 4 or 5 injection pumps, and i tighten everything up and then crack 3, 4, and 5. (easiest to get to)
then i bump the starter 4~6 times and i have fuel to the head, then tighten the lines back and she fires right up. She'll run a lil rough for a few seconds, then it smooths out

well guys today i had some time to work on the ole girl but the starter was going out ....anyhow i only had an 8th of a tank so i threw 5 gall in then i cracked the line to the ip fuel poored out then i went back to bumping the starter then i began to get decent fuel but i could only crank it over so much as my starter would work ok then hardly at all...... well it really burpped the one time like it was gonna go but then it quit turning over for the most part as when i turned they key back i seen the clutch fan bumping over and heard my passenger side battery bubbling acid so i disconnected the batteries pulled the starter baught a new one and tried using an old batterie and the one on the drivers side that didnt bubble out acid..... well it cranked over better but needs more juice and i never even came close to getting it to talk. I will have fuel running out up by the head at times quite well and i can even hear the steady stream running off the back of the engine then ill tighten the lines up turn it over for about 10-15 seconds and nothing , so i crack the lines again and i wont get anything but a couple bubbles sorry for making this so long but im at the end of my chain i want to hear this thing run again. Am I getting air somewhere... it doesnt seem like theres a lot of places to draw air but and i know everything is burred up pretty tight
I dont know what to think...

check valve??? im not sure how it works but im fairly sure i remember hearing fuel running into tank while playing around to start.... if this is in the banjo bolt on the vp it should be good cause they gave me a new one with the pump.........
I had to crank a LONG time even after getting fuel to the injectors.. both when i replaecd the LP and the IP.
Dont ask me why. My best guess its that patience level.. the point where you think youre going too long and you give up before it finishes.. Yes.. Right past that patience point is where it will fire up.
