Power steering leak

I just recently developed a leak from the cap on my power steering reservoir. It appears that the reservoir is being pressurized and it is venting fluid through the cap. I determined that the power brake booster seems to have a problem and is causing the PS reservoir to pressurize. The boosters on diesel powered Rams are boosted by the power steering pump ,and mine seems to be sending pressure back to the PS reservoir. I priced the booster through Dodge and they want $570 for it. Does anyone know where to find a hydraulic power booster for less? I can drive the truck, but I would like to stop the leak.

doses your 4x4 & heater controlls work. plastic tube might have came off the vac pump, or come unplugged in another location.

I replaced my PS pump and Orielly's suggested I also put on a PS pump filter, which I did. Ever since I've had the filter on it, my resevoir would overflow just like yours. It seemed that the system was making oil. I think what was happening was the filter was becoming clogged and not letting the fluid flow, thus backing up. I took it off and haven't had any trouble since. If you have any kind of filter on it, I'd check that first.

I had the same problem and I took it to a Napa shop and it was way less than $300 I can't rember the amount for sure. They replaced the pump and it works fine an no leaks. I stay away from Dodge as much as I can.
