P2149 Need advice Please

Hey guys, I have researched this code and need to make sure that I am covering all the bases here. I was on the highway and then all of a sudden the truck started to run like crap. Engine light came on and it seemed to have half the power than it normally would. I'm going to pull the valve cover and check out the injector wiring harness for all of the injectors. Also, I will check the injectors with an ohm meter to see how their resistance is looking and if there would be any bad injectors. Is there anything else that I need to do or look for? I have to be back on the road monday if at all possible.
Thanks

When this happened to me, it was P2146 (Bank 1-3 vs your 2149 4-6). It turned out the reason it ran like crap, like it was missing, was cause it was missing. Number 1 stick died in the closed position. If you had an infrared thermometer, you could read the temps of the exhaust ports and see what one was cooler than the rest.

I don't know if your stick died cause it was all gummed up or really just died. If you can take it out and clean it? Soak it in Techroline overnight (5-10 bucks)? Or just have it out ready to replace it. If the good soaking works, then treat your tank to some techroline also.
Back to morning brew. BTW, I think bama sux too.

Thanks man. I don't have an infrared thermometer so I guess I'm pulling the valve cover and my voltmeter to chase it. Any other help is greatly appreciated.

Well, I checked the resistance on my injectors and all of them read like .5 or .7 except for #6 which reads 11.something. I did not disconnect the injector wires when testing, should I have done that to check them?

I guess I'm going to hobble this truck over to the dealership about 4miles away and have them hook it up to their scanner. Any tips on what I should be questioning them about other than the obvious?

Update, the dealer confirmed that #6 is in fact trashed. Any recommendations or things i need to know on an injector swap?

Pulled injector and installed new one. But, I did get a good crash course on how to change a commonrail injector. After another bonus check, I am going to do the rest of them.
