P2121/p2122

P2121 Pedal Position Sensor 1 Performance / Rationality
P2122 Pedal Position Sensor 1 Low

Is this a DIY fix, replace just the sensor, or will there likely be more to it?

The codes came up while on the road a few hours towing our 31ft camper. Seemed like the truck didn't have much power, then there was a lag in accelleration while trying to speed up or climb...
Haven't noticed the problem since we've been home and unhooked though..

I've got about 98k on it.

Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!

Just a heads up for anyone throwing these codes, Dodge wants $706 to replace the sensor.

Might try to find another dealer as in my unofficial opinion shouldn't it be under part of the Cummins warranty??? If so at the worst it shouldn't cost you more than the $100 deductable. I'm not sure but I think the TPS should be covered under hte 100K warranty. Give it a try. Call a few dealers and see what they tell you about what is & isn't under the warranty.

Where'd you find a TPS for that price!!! I've gotten nowhere chasing this part except back to Dodge...they want over $500 !!!

Got any numbers? Make? Store??

Thanks

just out of curiosity .. i think mine might be going bad but im not sure of the symptoms .. some times when i have the cruise set at 45 in 5th gear and then go to accelerate it just holds its RPM where it was set, then when i cancel the cruise and apply the clutch then release the clutch it accelerates fine. also in 1st gear and some times second when i am accelerating it stutters like its hitting rev-limiter .. are these symptoms of a bad tps?

How did you get the throttle cable off the old TPS lever w/o breaking the retaining knuckle???

I'm in the middle of doing mine now and that is all that is holding me up...I don't want to break the **** knuckle such that it won't stay on the new part.
