Where are you now? I am in Central SC. I don't have a wide variety of tools, but probably enough to get you by, but am willing to help if I can. I even have garage if it is raining. Just let me know and I will give you phone #.

I don't know about any shops in that area but I expect there are some.

As far as changing the fluid and filter, at this point, may be worth a try. I would be very interested in seeing the bottom of the pan if it was me.

My step mom lives in Covington, about 30 miles from Atlanta. I'm going to try to get here to hit the yellow pages. Don't know if she'll answer tho, it's always hit and miss.

Well thank's guy's. I guess I'll try to find some tool's here in Atlanta tomorrow. But I'm thinking it's toast.

Hey Mike. I appriciate the offer. But I think that's a little too far for ya.

I'll see what I can get done tommorrow. I just happened to catch someone at DTT. They said no way of getting a trani from the for at least a month.

She said get it rebuild and go from there.

Anyone know about how much a dealer or private shop would charge. Thank's.

Sorry, all I'm getting from Mom is the answering machine. Don't know when she'll get it.

Been playing with the on-line yellow pages. There is a bunch to choose from, but I can't speak of the quality.

Good Luck.

Are you going to stay there until fixed or do you need a ride since you got the young one with you?

No it is not too far. I have a trailer to put it on, depending on size of your truck, but can get bigger. I am only about 3 1/2 hours from Atlanta and if you need help that is not too far. Especially if I drive 4 1/2 hours one way to just change a **** phone cord. I would rather it be to help someone in need. I see you have a 3500. Is it dually, and is it a longbed which I assume is a stupid question. Just let me know, I am willing and able to help.

I know that you mentioned a DTT, but I got the impresison from Suncoast last week that they had units "on the shelf". They qouted me a same day shipment I think and are fairly close to Atlanta. There was an outfit in Tennessee selling them on EBAY that I know had them in stock. They don't have anything listed right now. I will post their phone number in the morning.

Well a local shop say's it's the convertor. I called a shop back home and they say the same thing. He said since he has to pull it anyway, it would be best to go ahead and rebuild it. He quoted me $1,850, and will stay late tonight to get me on the road tomorrow. He said he could put a furnace brazed convertor in it, and an extra clutch disc. He recomend's only adding 200 rpm over stock. Does all this sound right.

My main thing is time. The guy who's car's I have on my trailer said if I can't get his car's to him real soon, he'll get someone else to come and get them.

So what do you guy's think.

If he said over stock stall speed and meant it you should RUN like a recently violated simian. The trouble with the stock TCs is that they do stall too high!

I think that price is very reasonable for a convertor, a tranny rebuild, and labor for install, etc.. My $0.02!!
