Red face Old truck don't like the mornings...need some help

Well went out to start the old girl this morning its about low 70's. Started the truck and it was stumbling... bad. Ton of white smoke out the back, gave it some gas and it was even worse. Let idle a few moments and it cleared up. I suspect leaky injectors don't think they've been replaced. What do yall think? It runs fine after a few moments but just never seen it run so rough. Feels like a few of the cylinders were missing pretty bad. Got a feeling it doesn't like mornings anymore just like me...

You're getting air in the supply side of the fuel system. Could be any one of the connections before the injection pump, or a bad lift pump. The easiest way to narrow it down is to lightly pressurize the fuel tank (shop rag and air hose stuffed in the fill hole works, you just want slight positive pressure) and watch for fuel leaks in the lines.

The real stumper is when the pickup in the tank cracks - can't see that one.

Darn,
I jsut put a brand new Cummins Lift pump on my truck a couple of weeks ago,a nd it's doing the same thing, runs way rough, white smoke, etc on the cold starts, then smooths out and runs pretty much normal.

Not having a good run on pumps, my stock pump is down to 4.5 psi, the first replacement was a screw bowl NAPA pump that failed after only 6-7 miles, and now the OEM pump may be leaking off... great
