OK.... I ran the codes...Can you help?

It's me again with the '99 that stopped on the road yesterday. I rented a code reader from Autozone and here is what I have found:

P1688
P0252

What do you think?

Thanks,
Jim

OK.... so now what's next? Where is the best place to get the pump?

Is there anything else that I should be doing? How about the lift pump? It seems to be pumping OK.

Should I be considering a fuel pressure gauge at this time?

Thanks,
Jim

i have heard alot of good things about blue chip's VP44's. I would definitely get a fuel pressure gauge or at the very least a 5 psi pressure switch that is hooked up to a LED warning light. the stock lift pump is junk replace it as soon as funds allow.

at the very least i would get a airtex replacement pump, they are supposed to be much better than the stock carter lift pump. I have the airtex and it has been doing its job now for about 8 months no problems. FASS, Airdog are the best you can get but $$$, I am looking at a raptor fuel pump

Just for a simple check first, you might want to make sure the fuel pump relay is still working. Occasionally they do go bad. On my '01 the horn relay and the fuel pump relay are the same type, you could try swapping them around. You will get the same codes if the relay fails.
