oil level on the rise

i have 3000 miles on my oil and the level is steadily rising. first service was done at the dealer and i confirmed proper oil level soon after i got it back, but now when i check it, its slowly climbing past the max line. whats going on? is it an injector?

6000 miles. checked on level ground when motor is cold/hot, proper coolant level, good color, cant tell if it smells like diesel but it seems alittle runny. mpg hanging around 16 w/ easy driving. smokes more than usual on start up.

what do youll think. i might go to the dtealer in the morning and see what they say but idk.

sorry for being so long

thanks

brett

Don't know about leaking injectors but if one is damaged you will rapidly fill the crankcase. Try adding a full quart of Power Service to the fuel tank and drive it a little harder. If that dosen't celear it up take it to the dealer and complain. Or send a sample of the oil out for annalysis and see if there is diesel in the oil. If so probably leaking injector(s). When my injectors failed (2 seperate times) I used 5 gallons fuel in a 15 mile drive and left fuel/oil mix all over the truck and road.

thanks for the quick reply. i run powerservice 3:1 w/ MMO. so do i need to drain off the excess oil or is it ok? been noticing my oil pressure higher than normal too and dont want to mess anything up. how could not driving it hard cause the oil to rise?

and what else do i need to tell the dealer is wrong in order to get the flash for fuel milage? besides it smokes on start up, which it does. i need to take the flashpaq off and see what the milage is then i guess

thanks

Take it to the dealer. Sounds like you have a bad injector. I dont know about you, but I sure wouldnt want to be driving around filling my crankcase up with diesel. Its horrible on bearings, and not good at all for your turbo(enough fuel in the oil, and it wont be long for this world ). Bad injectors usually get fuel into the crankcase.

Did you put powerservice in the motor oil? Powerservice is a fuel additive. Change the oil NOW if you put powerservice in it.

well thanks again for all the replies. i took it to the dealer and they were of little help. i dont know what i was doing wrong, but it was perfect when i took it in. So i asked if they would look at it and tell me why my milage went down and it smokes so much more on start up, and his relpy was im not looking at it because it has that intake on it (AEM BF). i asked him what it has to do w/ anything and he told me that that will allow ot more air which in turn means more dirt in the motor and its not designed for that much air flow. what an idiot. so next time ill just slap on the stock box and go in. but from now on, its going in for every little thing just so i can start building a relationship w/ them!!

i dont know. just one of the guys that had a clipboard to come out and meet me. i just called there and wanted to talk to the service manager and SHE wasnt available so i talked to a guy that seemed like he had a pretty level head. well all i really learned was not to take my truck there for warranty work. they are NOT modify friendly at all. for example they are probably gonna hassle me just for cutting my muffler off. so if anyone knows of a place north of houston maybe near conroe that has a good service department, let me know please. if, god forbid, i do take it back, im gonna slap the stock air box back in it and call it good. how is the superchip standing up to being searched for. i program it back to stock of course when i take it back but from the way they talk they will do all kinds of searching...looking for idle time and stuff

thanks

Don't take it back there - you'll be walking into a trap, lucky they didn't flag your VIN for voided warranty the first time.

However, oil level almost always increases due to leaking injectors, which usually result from running aftermarket fueling boxes/programmers... ya gotta be ready to pay if ya wanna play!
