oil gauge

oil gauge

The truck is running good, but the oil gauge is at 0. Nothings leaking either, so idk whats wrong with it, and im scared to drive it because i dont want it to lock up.

my 98 would sometimes read 0 then it would read fine 10min later.

Replace the sender with one from Cummins.
Auto parts senders don't last, you'll be buying another soon if you go that route.

The dealer will tell you to reflesh...DONT !!!! as that makes your gauge a fancy idiot LT.

I had this problem with my 01.5 The gauge would work for about 3 min. from a cold start then It would drop to 0 PSI for the rest of the day. It was the oil press. sending unit (Right side of the block just below the engines computer.) I replaced Mine with an Airtex from rock-auto. I could not find one around here if my life depended on it even from cummins.. Chances are thats your problem, but I would check the connection first.

Yep thanks guys, it was the sending unit. I just replaced it tonight. Thanks again for the help.
