Just wanted to update my original post. I got my analysis back today and everything was within spec with no traces of diesel or anything.
They said I probably had some old oil still in there that diluted the new and turned it black. Now I can enjoy my efforts without worrying I did something wrong. I think I need to start taking Zoloft or something.
