I do appoligize, i was told by my dealer that they could only get the whole pump with the fca and not just the fca....i went to cummins and got the fca and all problems are gone.
So sorry for the misunderstanding.

I dont think it can check the fca, but i highly doubt you have and fca problem their wouldnt be diesel leaking into your crankcase. If you did have a bad fca it would fail closed and truck would act like its not getting any fuel i think dont hold me too it. I have been told you can unplug the fca with the truck running and see if it changes the way its idling if if it doesnt then it is bad. Leaking fuel is usually due to either cracked bodies or nozzles or faulty solenoids. The fca doesnt control the injector simply the fuel going through the cp3.

well I found out I didn't have fuel in my oil afterall.

I bought an FCA Today from Cummins. I am going replace that this weekend. The Chiltons manual says to throw away the old bolts and put new ones on. The new FCA didn't come with bolts. I wonder how important that is. I wonder what Grease to put on the new FCA O-rings?

The FCA cost $95.00 That was cheaper than the dealer and i didn't find a dealer that had them and most told me they couldn't find the FCA.

Any ideas on the type of Grease to put on the o rings? Should I reuse my old bolts? They are only torqued to 65 inch pounds or so

on the very bottom of my oil dipstick the color is differnt....is this fuel in my oil? is this an indication of something?
What I would like to know is if the color is different at the bottom (end) of the dip stick, How did it stay that color when you pulled it through the black oil above it?

Wainting patiently to see these results, did you ever check it on the drb you may still have a bad injector they dont have to leak to be bad a solenoid can go out and one cylinder may not even be firing.

I didn't check it on the DRB yet. I was actually going to put this FCA in First and see if it fixes my problem. Since its cheap and sounds pretty easy to do. I was also going to change my fuel filter just to make sure that is okay.

Do you know what kind of "grease" I should use on my o-rings on the FCA...it says grease but what are they talking about....is oil just as good? or is there a special "grease" that I should know about.

My dipstick has a little section at the end that is plastic coated. Why ? Heck if I know, but you can tell it was definately intended to be there.

well the FCA Didn't fix my problem.

I can see why they say to use new bolts. They are very hard to tighten because the torx screews are slightly hard to get to with the torque wrench attached. I got everything together good though. My problem is persisting. Tomorrow I will go read it on a DRB Scanner and see if I can find something else.

P2509:ecm/pcm power input signal intermittent

Not sure if this helps

Parker o-ring lubricant is the correct grease for o-rings. Vaseline will do in a pinch.

OK, just a quick question though? How many miles on your 04.....or is it an 04.5. Either way, if under 100,000 miles it shoudl still ahve the Cummins warranty on it. If over 100K then OK you are on the right track for yourself to do it. I'm afraid that I like others think if you have a fuel in oil problem than most are caused by bad injectors. Otherwise try the warranty side if it is a possiblity.

Good luck...
