Oil all over dip stick????
Re:Oil all over dip stick????
I removed the tube and cleaned it out with brake fluid and a coat hanger. Then i re-installed the tube. When i 1st checked the oil level on the stick, it looked normal--no oil up above the the safe mark. After trying it again, i didnt have such lucky results. But i do have to say that i can now see the oil level a little clearer, but there is still oil spread about the dipstick, all the way up over the twists and to the rivets.
I did notice that about 7/8 the way inserted, the dipstick seemed to have some resistence. I know that there should be some resistence, but it seemed much more "snug" that how I remember it on my old 12 valve. Im thinking that maybe my dipstick could be a little bent, and on the way up, it drags oil up along the tube, causing it to smear oil along the dipstick as its being pulled up. Im gonna try another buds dipstick and see it does the same thing. Ill keep yall informed.
