no overdrive

Hi guys I need some help?
On my 2003 auto I have no overdrive.Last week I lost overdrive and the truck would shift 1,2,3 and hang no overdrive. So i took it to my shop and dropped the pan no metal and all look good.replaced pan and did pressure test 72#cold pressure in main line. Then i checked governor pressure 69# cold. Now i have no od off light and the gear selector will only show reverse and neutral nothing for 1,2 or 3rd and if i put the selector in 1st the wheels will lock up? I have a 0700 code but that is all i can read. Also 2 months ago the trans was hunting real bad and had an occasional dead pedal, but i replaced both batteries and cleaned the terminals and all was fine until now any help would be appreciated, sorry about the novel
Thanks Trevor

Once you pop the pressure test you need to reflash the PCM to get out of fail safe mode. It is a nifty "extra feature" on all Chrysler vehicles since 2003!

The 700 code is a catch all that is telling you that the EATX or Aisin transmission controller has an active fault.

You should be able to get the PCM to reset to default by disconnecting the negative battery cables and letting it set for a few minutes with the key and light switch on. That will drain the caps.

Once done, turn everything off and reconnect your negative battery cables. This should allow you to start and get the transmission back into fail safe driving mode, and creep to a dealer for a comprehensive scan.

I would pass on telling them you had it apart. They may be able to recover it with just a reflash, or may find the throttle position sensor has a fault. That generally leads to a similar set of symptoms. Because the throttle angle sensor also controls the fuel injection timing, do not attempt to change this yourself once it has permanent errors like you are seeing. It will require a change and the most current release of the reflash to bring everything back to life with the new sensor.

Also check if Recall RC-C42-04 applies to your truck. I have found several 2003 that need the PCM and wiring harness replaced due to corrosion in connector. If recall was done corrosion in PCM connector on R/S firewall could have already started before the orings were installed. Lost of communication between ECM and PCM could occurr and loss of overdrive or other trans problems. I would have this checked also since it should be covered under your warranty.
