No Oil Pressure Reading
No Oil Pressure Reading
I know it's late (9PM Pacific time) but I just went to move the truck and the "check gauges" light is on and oil pressure is not registering. Oil level good. No tappet sounds. Motor sounds normal.
I'm thinking that it's the oil pressure sensor. Can I drive it tomorrow or am I crazy to take any chances.
Thanks, Scott

I had the same problem on my 01, guage works then doesn't and bounces around, I installed a manual gauge and its got awesome oil pressure. remove oil fill cap and look for oil on the rockers, listen to the turbo spool to make sure its getting oil, and if its got good oil on the dipstick I'd say drive er but get a manual gauge first thing can even pipe one in quick under the hood to check, hooks in right ontop of the oil filter...good luck man, Babyjoe..
Thanks babyjoe,
Restarted it 2 3 times and one of the times it had pressure for about 5 seconds.
Does your factory oil pressure gauge still function?
If it doesn't, what do you do about the "check gauges" light?
Thanks for the reply!

I took the insturment cluster out and took it apart, there are four pins on the back of the gauge, just pull them out. It still comes on sometime but not like it did and its only for a second...
