No oil pressure @ start for 5 seconds or so

I am new to diesels and this just started doing this. No pressure @ start then goes to around 65 to 70 while running. It is just at start cold or hot start. I know no pressure is bad but seems I read something about the sending unit. Any info would help.

Mine has always had a slight delay, maybe a couple of seconds.

I had a friend that was also real worried about it after he bought his truck new. He took it back to the dealer and they said that it was normal.

Turning your idle up a hair, gets the blood going a little quicker.

I brought this point up a few weeks ago, about adding a pre oiler to the unit, but almost every one shunned me away from that idea. I am thinking of doing it anyways.
