Red face No low beams on headlights

Hi anyone:

1898.5, 24v, 2500 diesel.
Daylight running lights are on when the ignition switch is on. Pull out the headlght switch for night driving & switch to low beams & there is no low beam. Is it the light module again or the hi/low switch on the steering column?
Please, any suggestions before I buy a $168.00can module & then to possibly find out it is something else.

DRL are standard in Canada
It sounds like the hi low switch to me but, I would try switching it on and off repeatedly to see if they come on as usually if it is just the switch, they will eventually come back on after cycling the switch several times.

You may have to trim the lantern wicks on a 1898 unit.

The open design of the hi-lo switch allows gunk to build up on the contacts.
I spray electronic cleaner at the lever base while working the switch back and forth.
Disconnect your batteries first unless you like fire, circuit is hot all the time.

I'd clean the contacts(as infidel said) and then jump the wires to see if it's the switch.

Thanks for all your suggestions folks, but can you believe it,.... both bulbs were shot at the same time &.... I feel embarased for asking the question.
I have never experienced both lights blowing out simultaneously ever before! My charging rate is right on as well.

Thanks

Donliz

Either that or when replacing the bulbs you wiggled a loose wire so it connected again.
Odds are very low for both bulbs to go at once, maybe one was out for a long time and you didn't notice.
