No gas!
No gas!
This has been happening speradically for a while... but the past two days it's gotten really bad. It usually happens when I first start my truck and start driving...but now its happening other times as well. When I step on the gas... its like I'm doing nothing... there is a tiny bit more going to the engine, but very minimal acceleration. Sometimes I can make it go by shifting into a different gear or letting off the gas... others I have to pull over and drive along the shoulder for a bit before it senses where the pedal is? Or maybe its some kind of safe mode? I don't know... I have the 0216 error code which is fuel timing I believe? Any ideas?
Mission.. What beautiful country... I just returned from Kelowna 4 day ago

Before dropping a grand on a new Injection Pump, try performing an APPS reset. It doesn't cost anything except a little time.

It might still be a pump, but it might be the sensor.
And the sensor is alot cheaper.

This procedure has shown to help 24 valve ISB engines. It is basically teaching the fly by wire accelerator on these trucks to reread the position of the pedal and it's limits. Most complaints this will help with is poor acceleration, improper shifting, bucking in 5 and 6 speeds. Has been known to increase fuel mileage in some instances.
1. Set parking brake
2. Disconnect negative battery cables on both batteries
3. Turn ignition key to run(to drain any remaining capacitors)
4. Let truck sit for 30 minutes( this is the recommended minimum)
5. Return ignition to OFF position
6. Reconnect both batteries and secure, not a timed event
7. Turn key to run position(not start) and depress accelerator pedal slowly all the way to the floor
8. Allow pedal to return to top position slowly
9. Turn ignition switch OFF
10.Release parking brake

Thanks for the tip Shovelhead. I was online all day yesterday looking for ideas before I replace the IP. I have owned my ctd for only 5 months and I have learned two very important things on this site, there is good info to be found and there are plenty of good people to help you out. wish you where here yesterday.
Thanks

Correct...try the APPS reset first! It can save you a grand...How long did you have the Comp before you got the FASS? If you ran the Drag Comp a long while before the FASS you probably need a new VP44.
I tried the APPS reset. It worked temp for 2 miles then no more pedal (dohh!!!). I went and bought a fuel pressure guage and tee so I am going to check the LP pressure(just curious)...I am going to replace the LP anyway and CPS as per Diesel-Dans' advice. New guages on order as well. As troubling as this whole situation is, I am actually having fun and learning a learning many other things about my CTD.
Thanks everybody for all your ideas and suggestions.

I got the FASS before the chip... so it definatly couldn't have been from that. I only bought the truck 6 months ago... so who knows what the other person did to it. I'm just finishing up the reset right now... so I'll go take her for a spin and see how it does... though it mainly only does it when its cold in the morning... so that will be the true test
