No brake lights!

Well the title says it... I dont have any brake lights. The running lights still work fine. and the bulbs are good. I checked the switch under the dash on the pedal and it is still good. Also, theres power going to the switch. Does anybody know of a wiring harness or connection of some kind that runs under the body of the pickup, to the taililghts? Or am I gonna have to rewire everything? Thanks

And yes... I checked the fuses lol

Look under the hood on the driver side in the fuse box there is a 40 amper I think it that one. I know that I have replaced that one a couple of times . Buckskin

Third brake light work? Turn signals? Do any drilling, or other work recently? Trailer plug?
If signals work, bulbs are OK.
Trailer plug could be shorted.
Sometimes turn signal switch will cause this.
What year truck?

1990 ram. I dont have a third brake light, every light works fine on the truck except the brake lights, havent done any work on anything recently, All trailer lights work except for brake lights. Turn signals, running lights, etc... is all good. This is boggling my mind since the brake switch is still getting power and the switch itself is still good.

Have you hooked a trailer up lately? If the trailer lights are bad it can blow the trailer fuse and take your lights out also.

Check all the fuses.

Yes I have hooked to a trailer lately. Everything is working fine except brake lights (trailer included). I will check my fuses again though just to be sure. Thanks for continuing to rack your brain over this guys. I really appreciate it

The turn signal switch is inline with the brake lights. It completes the circuit to both when in the neutral position.

Try holding brakes with foot and jiggling turn signal switch. Thats likely your problem.
