No Brake Lights!!!!!!!
No Brake Lights!!!!!!!
I checked the fuses and didn't find any that were burnt. Put a test light on my trailer tow connector to see if I had any juice flowing to it with the brake peddle depressed, and nothing. No high center light either. I don't know what else to check. I'm not an electrical expert, but have a basic understanding of electrical. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thank-you

Just went out and looked a little more. The only thing that I can come up with is the brake pedal activated switch. What are the chances that it's bad? Does anyone know how to test it?
I've had the brake light switch go out on a couple trucks, but they were all pretty old. If you have no brake lights, and no bad fuses, I would definitely replace the brake light switch, they don't usually cost that much.
unplug it and check to see if one of the wires is hot ( 12 volts) if you don't get any voltage then a fuse is probably out...if you get voltage the switch is most likely bad
if you have a test light then check for power at the switch/wiring, one should have power all the time and then check the other while pushing the brake pedal down. you could even bend a paper clip and loosely install it into the connector to check for lamp op.
Well, I don't know what else to check. Talked to the neighbor this am and he said it is probably the multifunction switch. Said he has seen them go bad on other vehicles and that is how they act. I have no juice to the switch at the pedal. He claims that power goes to the multifunction switch and then to the switch at the pedal. He also said that it is probably about a $300.00 switch. Wish I had a way to verify that that was the problem.

Fuse 24 in your TIPM should be the feed for your brake lamp switch (gy/rd). The CHMSL is the ONLY lamp hardwired to the switch (tn/wht). All other circuits are driver provided by the TIPM. You might have a couple issues going on.
Maybe check the fuses all very thoroughly again. I had my lights go out, replaced the brake switch, still nothing, went back in the engine compartment, the fuse was blown BELOW the little bit of solder at the link. Was impossible to tell while in the fuse box, could barely see it after taking it out.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Thank- you guys. I think I may have a short somewhere. Fuse #24 was blown and one of my bulbs was bunt out also. It didn't look like it though. The fuse blew again shotly after replacing it. Has been OK for the last 24 hours since replacing it a second time. Hope I just got a bad fuse. That usually isn't my luck though. The way things usually go for me, I'll probably still be chasing it around three to six months from now.
