no boost

My truck..see sig....has had a k/n air filter for about 10 years....but the filter kept falling off the intake so i ordered and received a filter from fleetguard.com. I just put the filter on and ran the truck.....the turbo is much louder....but doesn't seem to do anything...the boost gauge goes nowhere and the truck will not accelerate past thiry or so...it gets to thirty aight but when higher rpms start. the turbo gets loud....but does nothing...no pyro yet..so i have no clue what is going on. When I punch it the truck only accelerates slowly...some smoke...but not more that usual. what, exactly, is going on?

okay.....so....my luck is incredible....the receipt for the filter was in the box. i put the filter down...and flipped the box to read the label....apperently the receipt..all folded..fell out of the box and into the filter. I looked into the filter when i opened it..it was absolutely empty...so yeah...my luck. i pulled the paper out of the turbo...but a tiny piece fell into the turbo....is this okay?

Apparently not. You still have no boost? What does your boost gauge say. These trucks go nowhere without boost, without a boost gauge you have no information.

rare1....
I found the paper after the initial question...didn't run the truck again before asking the second question...but I decided to without getting an asnwer and it ran well...back up to the normal 20-23lbs. boost...accelerates well...normal spool. Sweet....aight..cannot do that again. feel pretty smart right now ...but it's aight. Thanks all for the quick help, and I am an idiot. redwake

He-ey, don't be so harsh on yourself. At least you took the filter out of the box!
