2001 dodge truck was running went to hook up fuel gauge lost prime (lp not working) put new lp on had about 5 on gauge trying to start truck.it will not start I have checked for leaks on everything I have taken apart.is it really that hard to get the prime back or should i be looking at something that I really don't want to(vp44) ok i just finished hooking up elect for gauges to find out what is really going on i have about 4psi when i try to start at one point it went to 17 could i have a leak somebody help me please

 

ok I guess I had air in the line . still not sure about that quick connect fitting by lift pump I pulled on that to make sure iI had a good fit then primed and cranked she started by the way I went the cheap way out $64 pump from cummins story is it is a recall for busses my local cummins dealer called cummins and ask if he could sell it to me he was told he could by the way that part #4090046 thanks ripper01 for your help
